Q. How do I register for Miss 16?
A. Registration Forms are available online (click here to download) or Ankeny Area Chamber office. Deadline for registration is the first week of May. Click here for more information.

Q. How do I register to be a vendor?
A. You can apply for a vendor space via by clicking here and then filling out the appropriate application form or by calling/emailing the SummerFest office at 964-0685 or ankenysummerfest@ankeny.org to have form mailed or emailed to you.

Q. Where is the SummerFest Site?
A. SummerFest is held outdoors at Northview Middle School and Prairie Ridge Sports Complex at NW Ash Dr. and NW Prairie Ridge Dr. From Ankeny Blvd
(Hwy 69) turn west on NW 9th or NW 18th Sts. There is no admission to the grounds. Click here for map.

Q. How do I sign up for the softball tournament?
A. Information regarding the Softball Tournament is under the “Things To Do” page of this website; you can register online through the event after May 1

Q. Where do I find information on the Parade?
A. Click on Parade for details and registration for the Grand Parade and the Kiddie Parade.

Q. How long is the parade?
A. The parade route is approximately 2.7 miles long and viewing the entire parade takes about 2 hours. Time spent if you are a participant depends on your location in the parade. There are no assigned spots; entries are fed through from the parking lots at the high school.

Q. Who oversees SummerFest?
A. This is the fifth year the SummerFest is under the umbrella of the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Ankeny, Ankeny Community School District, and the Ankeny Jaycees. This is a success due to the amount of Chamber and Community volunteers.

Q. How is a new event included in SummerFest?
A. If you are interested in your event being a part of SummerFest, you must complete the form with your proposal which goes before the events committee and the full SummerFest committee for approval. Once your event is approved, a payment must be made to be confirmed. The cost is $50 for off site, $65 for on site and $75 for on site with electricity. Once an event becomes part of SummerFest, the event will be on the website and in the event program.

Q. Does the SmokeFree Air Act apply to SummerFest?
A.The SmokeFree Air Act does apply to all of the SummerFest grounds. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on SummerFest grounds. This is a state law that will be enforced.

Q. How can I get involved in SummerFest?
A.Ankeny SummerFest is a four day event that is run by Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Ankeny, Ankeny Community School District, and the Ankeny Jaycees and through many volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering on a SummerFest Committee please contact, efish@ankeny.org. SummerFest Committees include: Marketing, Vendors/Carnival, Events, Leisure Garden, Grand Parade and Site Preparation.
